LAUNCHED alongside the firm's flagship 1290 Super Adventure, KTM's new 1050 Adventure is the latest 'big bike' aimed at riders on a restricted licence. At 95hp, it sits bang on the power limit for bikes to be restricted to 47hp for A2 licence holders. It may seem like an odd decision from KTM to have three Adventure models all within 250cc of

26,000 miles on my 1290 SA-T so far but I’ve heard of a 1290 with around 90,000 and handful of 1190s with more than that. If you asked the same Q on a BMW forum there would be loads of people with 100,000+ but there seem to be far more ultra-low mileage KTMs than ultra-high mileage. BMW been around a long long time.
Haven't ridden a 1290 but put 11000 miles on an 1190 which I suspect is similar to the 1290. Yes, you still know you are on a twin. Yes, it still prefers 4k+ on the tach. No, it doesn't buck around and sound like someone shaking a box of rocks under 4k while under load like the 990. The newer ktm twins are better than the 990 mills in every way. I've been pretty blown away by the new Triumph Tiger 1200 - it's feisty, sporty and lots of other words ending in y. But how does it compare to my favourite It retails for $24.99, but I got mine at ktmworld.com for $19.99. they have great pricing and ship for free over like $25. The new part has Red and a Black wire, though the existing part in your bike will be Blue and Brown. You'll have to unbolt the headlight and headlight mask to access where you need to be. In stripped-down SX form, the 1,190cc, 72-degree, liquid-cooled twin is essentially the same specification as the one in the RX superbike. In the SX, the engine produced 154 hp and 84.6 pound-feet
Location: New York City. So, here are the steps, overall: Strip down bike, remove valve covers. Rotate rear cylinder to TDC, and measure clearances. Rotate front cylinder to TDC, and measure clearances. Adjust if necessary. Things I've noticed KTM has changed which make my jor easier than on the 950:
A high-performance replacement air-filter kit for KTM Twins. Rottweiler has been specializing in KTM twin cylinder performance parts in the recent past and has developed an intake system that eliminates the restrictive stock airbox and air filter element and replaces it with a large open-foam filter that covers the carbs or throttle bodies. For a moment, I though “Huh, 2 stroke”. Just for a moment… During my visit with my local KTM dealer, today (a couple hours ago), he stated “mid-may” for availability of the 790 Adventure (Arizona). I sat on the 790 Duke that was on the floor. That cycle is *tiny* compared to the 1090, 1190, and 1290 that were right next to it.

Soak the wrap in a bucket of water before you start. It helps keep the fibers from wicking off into the air and the wrap will shrink onto the pipe when it gets hot. I had roughly 5-6 wraps on my old oem pipe over the cat with the PP skid plate. Use rubber medical gloves and a long sleeve shirt.

The stock 1190 has a lovely swell of torque that starts at about 4K, and it has a pretty quick (immediate) throttle connection. To my mind it's those things that make the 1190 such a pleasure to ride on the road. I'd hate to spend a big wad of cash to lose that or shove all the power up at the top end. #16.
The 1190 seems like a great bike with an amazing motor and ground clearance. 150 hp and the weight offroad gives me pause, but the ride modes and traction control sound like they make things manigable. The ground clearance and suspension seem like what I want in an off road biased adventure bike.
The 790 motor is livelier than the Honda’s—a given, really, when you consider the capacity difference. The KTM’s internals are much lighter, and the motor spins up with an intoxicating velocity that makes you want to wick it up and cut all kinds of funky angles with that forgiving chassis. vFT88.
