Jun 16, 2021. #1. Hi All - My motorhome has the 9 speed auto box and overall I am very happy with it. I have today had a problem when trying to reverse up hill (not that steep) to get on a pitch. Despite putting foot full on accelerator vehicle would not move or engine rev - I managed to manoeuvre on flat and take a run up and it went on.

Hi, this is my first post My girlfriend has an Automatic 2011 Fiat 500 0.9 TwinAir. Recently, it keeps jumping into Neutral, and wont shift back into gear without turning it off and on again. I believe it's a problem with the Dualogic Gearbox Actuator. I noticed the unit was leaking and very low on oil.
The Comfortmatic gearbox on our 59,000 mile 2014 Ducato based Hymer motorhome will no longer reliably go into neutral and is occasionally slow to recognise reverse. It intermittently also fails to respond to manual inputs, sometimes, but not always giving the message "Manual option not available". The automatic option still works normally.
Instead of the optional diesel engine with Comfortmatic, the standard version has a 280 hp 3.6 litre Pentastar V6 petrol engine with the Chrysler 62 TE conventional autobox. A petrol Ducato would breeze into Low Emission Zones and the Autobox should be smoother and does away with the clutch/DMF problems.
Available in three different wheelbases with two roof heights, the Trdis-like Ducato gets the job done with a tough 2.3-litre turbo diesel engine and either a manual or automatic transmission

Run fault codes --- change oil and clean filter --- have the bands and clutch packs adjusted for starters as it may reveal a fault that can be fixed early for little cost.
Lower the unit down until there is clearance between the lower edge of the inner wing and the gearbox end flange. Now you have room to part the gearbox from the engine. Support the engine with the small jack under the rear of the oil pan. Remove the remaining upper back and lower front clutch housing to engine bolts. The transmission speed sensor, sometimes called a vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is responsible for working out what speed your Fiat Ducato is doing. It then sends the speed information to the engine control unit (your car's brain) and from there, depending on if your Fiat Ducato is manual or automatic, it can determine which gear you should be in Hi I would be looking at the gear lever linkages, cables & the selector levers on the top of the gearbox as a starting point. There is a previous post on a broken gear lever problem with one of the later 244 models with an attached word doc in which I put some pictures up in regard to the gear lever assembly & its adjustment.
In conclusion, Fiat Ducato Automatic Gearbox Problems can be caused by a lack of maintenance, faulty parts, and overheating. Diagnosing these problems requires looking for warning signs and taking troubleshooting steps. Repairing the gearbox involves replacing parts, flushing the gearbox, and refilling with fresh fluid.
Mine lost all its auto functions which in the end was down to faulty glow plugs. It took some time for the Renault agent to diagnose that and there was dire talk of gearbox failure etc. Fiat may of course be better and 5 years have elapsed since then so the knowledge base in the used market may be better.
1. Points. 1. May 8, 2009. #1. I have a 2003 2.8 Ducato (Hymer Motorhome) fitted with the automatic gearbox. It's working fine in full auto mode but the manual selection isn't working. Can anyone please help???
2009. Jul 26, 2020. #5. The DPF sensor fault is a known and recognised fault - the problem appears to be that getting replacements is the problem, currently as rare as rocking horse s**t. Not sure I'd accept a new vehicle with a warning light showing but if it comes on later, provided the van runs fine I wouldn't worry too much.
Sometimes with this the motor will have a slight miss. Sometimes difficult to select DRIVE. Sometimes may have gearbox warning light on and reverts to only 3rd gear available. All of the above will have this associated ticking sound. RV may run fine for 3or 4 trips away until for no reason these problems occur. Any ideas please.
