Launch Half-Life 2. Through the lauch process HL2 writes a new config. Then exit the game. Enabling the Steam Cloud Enable the Steam Cloud function for Half-Life 2. It's really weird. It is probably input lag. A common problem with V-Sync. More fps - less inputlag. You dont really need to cap it. I find CS:GO I need 0, some games say Half-Life: Source would result in 2 l337 fps with 0. So I turn to say 121/300. V-sync caps at 60fps, you cannot change that for my knowledge.
Extract the demo file into your Half-Life 2 folder (e.g. "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\ your_steam_account \half-life 2\hl2\") In Steam, right-click on Half-Life 2, go to Properties then Launch options. Enter " +showbudget_texture 1 +playdemo stutter". Click OK then close the Properties box. Run Half-Life 2.

Enter -window -noborder -width [native width of monitor] -height [native height of monitor] without the brackets. This fixed the problem for me. Share.
Copy all the DLL's from the "MS\x86" directory of dgVoodoo2 into the "Half-Life 2\bin" directory of HL2. The directory path is probably the most important part as its non-standard . It initially threw me off and I've probably installed DLL's into hundreds of game directories for these types of "wrapper" utils. You can use the -novid launch option to skip the intro. edit: try -dxlevel 81. crazymuffin • 11 yr. ago. This and also try -windowed or -noborder EDIT: -dxlevel 80 works better sometimes for me.

You can use "-novid" in for any Source game. To add it, right click on game and select properties. Then "Set Launch Options" and type in "-novid". This will skip the launch video. Share. Improve this answer. Follow. answered Nov 17, 2011 at 20:14. Dracs.
To get it working you need to go to Steam/ library/tools, right click (may have to double clink and install it first) steam vr>properties> beta tab and opt into beta, wait for update, restart steam and activated vr mode in halflife 2. leave Oculus utility on, in extended mode. Have fun.

After installing all the updates, do a reboot and see if Half Life: Alyx lags again. If this method failed to fix the lag, you can try the next one below. Fix 6: Set additional launch options.
