So I recently added a retarder to my Scania R truck to increase my heavy cargo capability, but now when I try to use Cruise Control, it says Retarder Activated and doesn't set the CC. I've tried pressing the , key to deactivate but it doesn't seem to work. Is there a way around this without having to remove my retarder?
Since Update 1.28 I noticed that when I use the retarder (I assigned a button of my XBox Controller for adjusting and lowering the retarder) the engine brake also is used.

1. There is no "key for speed limiter", only for retarder, parking brake and engine brake (engine brake is not the issue, because it would have turned off when accelerator or clutch is applied). 2. OP is asking about 37 MPH limit, which is way lower than speed limiter's 90 km/h.

Trucks use air pressure to apply the brakes, and if the air pressure is too low, brakes cannot be lifted and thus you cannot drive.
I use my xbox 360 controller. The problem is that when i accelerate, to let say 90km/t, when releasing the gas pedal , the truck instant brakes hard. How do i fix this, if i can? :)

I have the ; and ' keys assigned to increasing and decreasing the retarder speed, but I have no idea how to turn the retarder on in the first place. I checked the options, but did not find anything resembling "Turn retarder on". Help would be appreciated.
Retarders work by changing the valve timing of the engines, increasing compression and causing the engine revolutions to slow down, therefore slowing the truck down. sorry, but you are confusing the retarder with the engine brake. Retarders are devices built into the transmission that work with the gears and driveshaft to reduce speed.

Selbst wenn ich die Tastenbelegung ändere, wird der Retarder aktiviert, wenn die Taste für den Tempomat gedrückt wird. Das heißt: Ich kann den Tempomat nicht mehr benutzen.
Hello, Recently I was just playing the game and suddenly I got notified "The retarder is activated, press . to deactivate" and I do deactivate it, but my retarder just randomly comes on without me pressing that button. I would appreciate some help. Thanks! :)
Is truck speed limited to 90 ets2? By default, your truck won't go any faster than 90km/h on Euro Truck Simulator 2. No matter how much you spent on the engine and performance, the speed just fall on that limit. That's not your fault. The game itself limits your maximum speed to 90km/hour although most trucks can go above 130+km/hour quite easily.
